Widely considered to be the first full-length animated feature in the history of cinema, THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED (1926) is a beautifully crafted piece of storytelling based loosely on the Arabian Nights. Filmhouse Cinema in Edinburgh commissioned acoustic trio S!nk to bring their live sounds to this extraordinary film for a Scotland-wide tour which I was contracted to produce. The tour was part of CineScore Live, a touring season of live music and film events supported by Film Hub Scotland.
Partnership working and a wide network of contacts proved essential. With a remit to reach audiences far and wide, the tour crossed seas to arts venues on the islands of the Outer Hebrides and Skye as well as presenting in Scotland's leading mainland cinema spaces:
