In an exciting curatorial development, I was commissioned by Filmhouse Cinema, Edinburgh to team up with Neu! Reekie!, the literary, music and animation collective with a reputation as Scotland's leading "avant-garde noisemakers".
Inspired by Mark Cousins’ cinematic love letter I AM BELFAST, We Are Edinburgh is a three-act City Symphony featuring never seen before archive footage of Auld Reekie – from the Festival to the first farewell to the trams – accompanied live by Neu! Reekie! collaborators: Don Paterson (poet, musician, T.S. Eliot Prize Winner), Jenni Fagan (author, poet, Granta Young British Novelist), Eyes of Others/John Bryden, and local electronic dance pioneers Finitribe.
A sellout in Filmhouse's 290-seat Cinema 1 and critically acclaimed in The Scotsman and The Times, there's a big enthusiasm from everyone involved to present the event again and all interest in helping make this happen is very welcome!
