Tour Producer

Dec 2015 - May 2016

I was contracted by Glasgow Short Film Festival to produce a Scotland-wide tour of a major new audio-visual piece commissioned by GSFF for the 60th anniversary of LOST TREASURE, a 1950s film confronting the rural depopulation crisis in the Highlands that was never finished.

Musicians Drew Wright (formerly Wounded Knee, now Hoch Ma Toch) and Hamish Brown (of the band Swimmer One) toured their original live performance weaving together the available remaining footage - re-edited by filmmaker Minttu Mäntynen - with traditional songs, field recordings and archive recordings of oral history.

Detailed planning and promotion took the tour to some of the places where the film was shot as well as major independent Scottish cinemas:

Hippodrome Cinema, BO'NESS ★ Dundee Contemporary Arts, DUNDEE ★ Merlin Cinema, THURSO with Lyth Arts Centre ★ Timespan Museum & Art Gallery, HELMSDALE ★ Eden Court, INVERNESS ★ Filmhouse Cinema, EDINBURGH, part of The Folk Film Gathering
